Who are we?

Hi, I'm Jordy Rankine, founder of El Monito Cafe.

I spent 17 years as a professional chef, and the lesson that stuck with me most was simple: people remember how you made them feel. The technique, the plating, even the food itself fades. The feeling stays.

Coffee turned out to be the same game. A great espresso is only the opening move. What brings people back is everything built around it, and that's where we put our energy.

I grew up in the Cayman Islands, where hospitality isn't a job title. It's just how people are. Back home we call it Cayman Kind, and it's the spirit we bring to every event.

El Monito is a family business. My wife, Zoe, runs operations, and her warmth, precision, and eye for detail shape every client's experience, from the first email to the final cup.

We treat every event like it's the only one on the calendar.

Why El Monito?

El Monito is named after the two best reasons I do any of this: my kids, my little monkeys.

The name carries more than that, though. Monkeys are social animals. They gather, they move together, and they thrive in community. That's the world we're building, one event at a time.
