Our Story

Hi, I'm Jordy Rankine, owner of El Monito Cafe.

I spent over 15 years as a professional chef, and the one thing that stuck with me above everything else was this: people remember how you made them feel. The food, the technique, the plating, all of it fades. The feeling stays.

When I found coffee, I realized it was the same game. A great espresso is just the opening move. What keeps people coming back is the experience built around it, and that's what we care most about.

I'm originally from the Cayman Islands, where hospitality isn't a job title, it's just how people are. Its that “Cayman Kind” spirit we bring to every event. My wife Zoe runs operations, and her warmth, precision, and eye for detail shape every client interaction from first email to final cup.

Together, we treat every event like it's the only one on the calendar.

Why El Monito

El Monito is named after the two best reasons I do any of this: my kids, my little monkeys.

But the name carries more than that. Monkeys are social animals. They gather, they move together, they thrive in community. That's the world we're trying to build, one event at a time.

We show up with menus that are tailored, flavor-forward, and never an afterthought. Whether you're planning a wedding, a corporate activation, a birthday, or a market popup, we treat the coffee program like a centerpiece, not a convenience.
